SEA NOT SO SHORE WORLD.
on my blog, i'd like to share with you all my research, and the seaworld records. enjoy.
thanks to the wonderful blackfish movie, and the star tilikum, seaworld is struggling with business (psst, thats a good thing!)
harry styles, maisie williams, alex gaskarth, lincoln o'berry, pamela anderson, drew chadwick, and more celebrities are against seaworld! not to mention all the wonderful animal activists, and peta's street team!
now onto the facts.
1. SeaWorld says whales in captivity live just as long as they do in the wild~ too bad that's, completely false.
Orca's in captivity only live 20-35 years. orca's in the wild live up to 103 thanks to Granny the orca!
2. SeaWorld claims collapsed dorsal fins are normal.~again 102% false.
only 2% of orcas in the wild have collapsed dorsal fins. all the male orcas in seaworld, have a collapsed dorsal fin.
3.SeaWorld promises they respect the bond between a mother and a child, but wait a sec...why would they take away their babies?
in the wild orca pods stay together most of their whole life! seaworld separates the mother and the calve after only four years, claiming its a healthy social structure, um SeaWorld, were you forced into a new life by yourself at the age of 4...?
4. SeaWorld says its safe for trainers to be in the water with the orcas
Orca Tilikum was forced to perform in circus style shows, despite having already involved in the deaths of two people, trainer dawn brancheau, became the third person to die, even though her death could have been prevented.
5. seaworld says the tanks are big enough and safe.
is that why they ram into the concrete walls?
Let's just move onto some more interesting things about Seeworld, i mean Seaworld...
Ikaika, Katerina, Sumar,Tekoa,Trua,Kalina,Taku,Kohana, Skyla,Takara, Unna, Keet, Tuar,kayla, halyn, Splash, and keto, are all orca's that never got to be with their mothers on mothersday.
Dr.Rally a veterinarian took a visit to seaworld and you'll never guess what the doctor found...
Dolphins with skin conditions. poc like lesions on many dolphins at seaworld were spotted, visitors are STILL allowed in the water and unsupervised touching and petting the dolphins.
bullying and aggressive fights among the different species were commonplace apparently. when whales and dolphins are in captivity the stress causes aggression.
unhealthy animals, not surprisingly. a walrus named obie, was confined in a small tank with thin layers of green algae. obie suffers from depression and blindness
they're separated from their mothers, Dolphins, Belugas, and other whales are torn away from their family and shipped off to different seaworlds. this effects their psychological and physical development.
There you have it, seaworld is definitely not worth your money.
